About Elizabeth Davis
Providing help for teenagers and their support systems in North Texas
Hi, I’m Elizabeth Davis.
I’m a wife, mom, school counselor, road trip fanatic and I love watching a good game of baseball. I am also a licensed professional counselor and am in the process of opening my private practice in Bartonville, Texas. I offer both virtual and in-person counseling sessions to those interested in therapy.
I am passionate about providing help for teenagers to guide them through various life challenges. I also have a heart for supporting any adults that contribute to the well-being of a teen. With a healthy support system, there is a better chance of achieving wellness.
How my passion developed
I can relate to the issues of adolescence (as can most of us), because of my personal experiences with stress, anxiety, and loneliness. I understand the challenges that come with wanting to “fit in” and the thoughts that being smarter/richer/prettier would make everything better.
Growing up in a single-parent household, I often felt like I was not enough. Even though there were caring adults in my life, there was still something missing. I have also experienced the other side as a single mother and am now part of a blended family, guiding my children through their own obstacles.
My personal journey took time and effort, but working through the challenges and understanding the root of my emotions helped me to move forward. Now, I am determined to help others find the same success that I did.
How I can help
I seek to help the teens that I work with feel whole regardless of their circumstances. My goal is to help them feel valued and to affirm their importance when they don’t see it. I help them discover the reasons behind their emotions, so they can see that they are not defined by them. They are able to define themselves.
The mission of WISE Counseling is to empower teenagers to lead fulfilling lives by providing a safe and nurturing environment where they can be seen, heard, and valued. Through compassionate and evidence-based counseling, teenagers will develop the skills and resilience they need to overcome challenges and thrive.
It is also essential to support educators and parents in their vital roles of shaping the next generation by providing them with the tools and strategies to prevent burnout and promote wellness.
My credentials
I studied Child Development as an undergraduate at Tufts University and received a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision through Regent University.
I have 15 years of experience as a school counselor at both the middle and high school levels. I am also licensed as a professional counselor and work with clients from various backgrounds. I have led groups for single parents and their families as well as for pregnant/parenting teens.
